Get to Know the Aromas of Our Hand-Poured Soy Candles

Posted - December 3, 2020

One of our favorite parts about working with natural seed oils is their diverse uses, from skincare to haircare to self-care! Fill your space with a delightful aroma from one of our new hand-poured candles to enhance your self-care routine. These 100% natural candles are crafted with high-quality soy wax plus seed oils from locally-grown sunflower and camelina flowers. The perfect blend of essential oils is added to mimic two of our Seed community favorite aromas: Sea Salt & Bergamot and Cedar Leaf & Sage. Both candles burn cleanly, smoothly, and evenly for approximately 45-50 hours! Ready to explore these rich scents?

Sea Salt & Bergamot Soy Wax Candle

Top notes: Lemon & Bergamot

Middle notes: Ylang-Ylang & Lavender

Base notes: Cypress, Galbanum, & Eucalyptus

We may call this candle’s aroma “Sea Salt and Bergamot,” but it’s much more complex than that! You’ll first notice this aroma’s top notes of lemon and bergamot as the candle begins to warm. Soon the middle notes of ylang-ylang and lavender reveal themselves as the main body of the aroma. Meanwhile, the subtle base notes of cypress, galbanum, and eucalyptus intertwine with the candle’s middle notes for its final impression. Get your candle!

Cedar Leaf & Sage Soy Wax Candle

Top notes: Cedar Leaf & Bitter Orange

Middle notes: Sage, Clove Bud, & Chamomile

Base notes: Teakwood & Vanilla

Although the candle says “Cedar Leaf and Sage,” the aroma is filled with underlying notes. The scent begins with top notes of cedar leaf and bitter orange that is both refreshing and relaxing. The aroma’s middle notes of sage, clove bud, and chamomile fill the room subtly at its peak. Teakwood and vanilla base notes make a final, lasting appearance as the candle continues to burn. Candle Care Instructions:

  1. Before each lighting, trim wick to 1/4″ using scissors for a clean, safe burn and to maximize candle longevity. Discard the trimmed portion.
  2. Allow the wax to melt to the outer edges of the jar each time you burn to prevent “tunneling.”
  3. Once the candle is gone, we’d love to see how you reuse it. Clean it out and plant a succulent, store your sage bundle, or get creative!

Safety Tips:

  1. Don’t leave a burning candle unattended or in reach of children or pets.
  2. Burn the candle for a maximum of 4 hours at a time.
  3. Place the candle on a coaster to protect the surface below from heat.
  4. Don’t burn your candle when only 1/4″ of wax remains. This could overheat the jar. When the wax is this low, it’s time to clean out and repurpose your jar!
